Meet Trace Rutherford, DDS - Columbia SC Dentist
Dr. Trace H. Rutherford, the son of Dr. Harry B. Rutherford, the founder of Palmetto Dental Services, P.A., joined the practice after completing a two year hospital residency at Louisiana State University in 2001. Because of this intense program which dealt with surgery, implants and anesthesia, he was able to bring and implement his extensive training into the practice at Palmetto Dental Services.
Dr. Trace’s training and journey with dentistry began with his graduation from Howard University College of Dentistry, the fifth oldest dental school in the nation in 1999. He has achieved both being a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and has become a recognized leader and expert in the field of implantology. He is one of six active board certified implantologist in the state of South Carolina. He was a Past-President of the Southern District of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, served on the Board of Trustees from 2014 - 2018, in 2019 was nominated to be an Honored Fellow of the Academy and lectures internationally.
Outside of dentistry, his interests are travel and cooking. He is married to his extremely accomplished in her own right, Antoinette and is the father of two children.
